You may have been tasked with having to create an informative speech by some sort of school or college project. In this situation, they are very likely to ask you to come up with a few informative speech ideas and then perform them in front of your peers. If this is the case, then you are going to be looking for quite a few informative speeches ideas to help you get started. When coming up with ideas you should consider what your target audience wants to hear, and things such as how informed you are about certain subjects. This is important because it would hardly be fair for you to start teaching people about subjects that you barely know yourself.

What do your audience already know?

This is very important because you do not want to start educating your target audience about things that they already know. It is also important because there are certain things that are not going to interest certain types of audiences. For example, if you’re giving your speech to a large number of motorbike enthusiasts, then giving informative speeches about “My Little Pony” is not going to go down very well. You should also think about things such as what your potential audience wants to hear, because some subject matter is going to be far more interesting for them than other subjects. It is your job to find out as much you can about your target audience before you develop your own informative speech ideas

Come up with topic ideas that are related to what you know

Feel free to write an informative speech about things that you know very little about. Because let’s face it, you do have the ability to research. However if you want to save yourself a lot of time and make the process slightly more enjoyable, if not easier, then why not try writing about something that you are already firmly knowledgeable about.

Come up with ideas that are very specific

This is actually one of the better ways to engage of the audience. If you come up with an informative speech that is very specific, then any potential audience is going to be far more responsive to your speech. Many people have a general idea about such topics, and sometimes they are willing to learn more if you are willing to show them very specific parts of the topic in hand.
