People do not tend to come up with persuasive speech topics. What they tend to do is generate a bunch of goals and then come up with a speech topic to achieve those goals. If you’re looking for a persuasive speech topic, then you should first examine what exactly it is that you plan to communicate to your audience. What is it that you plan to convince them of? When you know that you can start coming up with topics that will suit your needs.

Once you know what you want to communicate, you should think about how

Your persuasive speech topics are just one part of your persuasive speech. You need to decide how you are going to communicate with your audience. You first need to understand your audience and know that different people are going to react to different words. Different people are going to react to different ways of saying things. This does not mean that you instantly have to resort to local colloquialisms in order to make an impact on your audience. But you must make sure that you do not appear condescending to them, or that you do not appear too aloof to them.

You must also know that they understand the issues

If your audience is not fully aware of all the issues at hand, you will need to dedicate part of your speech to educating them. You first need to tell them about the issues, and need to tell them how those issues affect whatever you are trying to persuade them of. You must then bring it all back round to them so that they can relate to it in no uncertain terms. So even if you’re trying to persuade them of something that is going on another country, you must try to get them to imagine how they would feel if this is happening in their country and to their families.
